langkawi
i was glad the nasty wound on my foot closed up before we took off for the trip. work on that day itself was pretty much doing nothing in the office; we played warcraft till it was almost time to close up and we were on our way out an hour earlier than usual because there wasn't exactly much to do...
i was picked up by dad and had some food at the nearby prata house before proceeding to meet up with the rest. wasn't long before we embarked on our little adventure and reached kl in the morning at around 1am. corona's inn proved to be difficult to find even with a map. for most of our tours t'were 4 of us in the back seats of the cab. it wasn't much of a problem but apart from that, i slept well even as we travelled for long hours; on the coach, plane and even on board the ferry to penang. i guess its good to get away even if it's just for a few days. after a flight delay we finally landed on langkawi. we had our own vehicle which made up most of the thrill(let's just say i wasn't the only one behind the wheel). as the day dragged towards the evening, we couldn't take enough of pictures of ourselves against the magnificent orange sky and clear horizons. we had the day in langkawi planned; up the cable car, go karting, visit the waterfalls, and even a friendly of beach volleyball with some of the staff of the hotel. then bad news came shortly after a game of volleyball on our own; the evening ferry tickets, which we had thought we had secured, were somehow sold(to someone who offered more for them perhaps). plans were ruined of course but frankly, i had thought it was a real pity that the consensus reached was to leave langkawi in the early afternoon and not the next morning. i mean, t'was so much we've yet to do. the sight of the beach itself was more than enough of a reason - the smooth sand. scorching sun. & other vball enthusists... it was a mighty fine beach. need i say more? at penang we settled down at the seemingly fabled Baba's guesthouse. t'was was a directional sign, "nice, clean & simple. (see to believe)". it pretty much described everything about it. with what's left of the day we took a walk down the night market and back up again. the bulk of the afternoon was spent at beach. we had a few sets of pure 2 on 2 beach volleyball. we hit the waves on the jet ski and got pulled up into the sky in a parachute. we messed around on the beach, like a bunch of kids. and we met Ali Baba(he handed me his namecard personally). we didn't try the nasi kandar which we heard quite abit about but food was great generally with an exception maybe - penang laksa is funny food. in the words of uncle jack, "很爽的!". that sums it all up more or less. it was fun while it lasted. photos here. and remember kids, "做人要有爱心!" jorn was alive and kickin' at 12:14:00 PM 0 comments ![]()

beach
wmp: jacks mannequin, dark blue
the trip to the beach last weekend was better than i had expected apart from getting my toe hooked onto by a fucking fish hook left around by some irrespossible dumbass and having someone's heel planted right onto my feet ripping some skin off with the very abrasive sand in between... it's been unbelievably a year. i had not much of good spikes but they were enough to make my day. having the ball in midair, i was less conscious of my movements despite my bad knee and it was liberating. towards the end of the day my stomach was almost trying to eat itself while my knee ached like a knife was twisting about within but yeah, somehow glad i dragged myself out of the house still... it was work back as usual on wednesday, thursday and finally friday. my monday is gonna be fucked up. the entire upcoming week for that matter. i wonder why me. i thought i might as well pull out a chair, crack open a beer, and watch it come. i've decided to take the backseat when it rains shit. if it's any consolation i'm watching spider-man tomorrow... o'boy... united 300. this, is funny. jorn was alive and kickin' at 1:36:00 AM 0 comments ![]() |
